Volunteer for an Event
What do Arizona FIRST LEGO League volunteers do? They make Arizona FIRST LEGO League a success! Teams need mentors and the tournaments depend on volunteers for everything from set-up and check-in to judging and scorekeeping. We are currently revising the volunteer roles for this season, so check back soon for updates! In the meantime, if you are interested in assisting or mentoring a team, you can connect on the FIRST Dashboard’s mentoring network here.
1. Decide on your volunteer role: No matter what your experience or background with FIRST, we have a role that will suit your strengths. To learn more about the various volunteer roles available, click HERE
2. Decide where and when you would like to volunteer: We have tournaments all over the state of Arizona from as far north as Flagstaff, ranging through the valley, all the way down to Tucson, Yuma, and Sierra Vista. To learn more about the specific dates of each tournament, choose the “events” page under your specific program on the sidebar.
3. Sign up in our online Volunteer Portal: Volunteers can now register with the FIRST LEGO League Volunteer Information and Matching System(VIMS).This site will allow you to set up a profile and apply to volunteer for specific roles at any of our 14 tournaments. After you get logged in click on “Volunteer Registration” then “Volunteer at an Event” then search FLL in Arizona. If you have any difficulty with the system, please email ArizonaFLL@asu.edu
*FIRST values the safety of every single child that participates in our program. Volunteers are required to complete a background check, however, FIRST will pay the fee! We want to make sure all of our participants are in safe hands
We are so grateful for all that you do! Thanks to our incredible FIRST LEGO League volunteers, young people across Arizona are getting a life-changing opportunity and equal access to STEM education.
