Frequently Asked Questions
The information on this page applies only to the following camps: FIRST LEGO League (all levels), Coding, Circuits, Virtual Reality, and Winds vs. Solar Energy.
How do I sign up?
Online pre-registration is required. The registration portal opens on February 4, 2020 at 8:00 am.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Payment is taken at the time of registration. You may mail a check or pay with a credit card. Instructions are listed in the registration portal.
What happens after I register?
You will receive an automated confirmation e-mail that contains a link to your registration details and a modify registration link. Please save this e-mail. Additional details such as drop-off/pick-up information will be sent out at least 1 week prior the start date of camp.
I registered but I still have not received a confirmation.
If you do not receive an initial confirmation within 24 hours of registering, please check your spam/junk folder. You may also contact our office at FultonSchools@asu.edu.
My child needs special accommodations due to a medical condition or disability. How do I make sure that the camp instructor is aware?
We will ask for your child’s health history and special accommodations in the registration forms, which will be shared with camp staff.
Is there a limit to the number of camps I can select?
There is no limit to the number of camps for which you can register. However, please be mindful of grade levels and prerequisite knowledge before signing up your child.
Who teaches the camps?
Camps are developed and taught by education professionals such as K-12 teachers and college professors. Each class is also supported by a camp counselor who is an ASU student. All classroom staff must pass a background check and complete Minors on Campus training in order to work with the campers.
Is food provided?
Meals are not part of the program. Students may pack a lunch or purchase food from the Memorial Union food court. Students are accompanied by camp staff during lunch.
What is your cancellation policy?
If your child is no longer able to attend, you may cancel your registration up to 1 week before the first day of camp. Refunds will be issued in the form of the original payment minus a $25 fee.
Do you offer discounts?
We do not offer discounts but we do offer a limited number of scholarships for up to 75% of the cost of the camp to qualified families. Please see the scholarships section for more details.
I’m applying for a scholarship. What form of payment should I select with my registration?
Select “Check” if you submitted a scholarship application with your registration. This holds the spot for your child while we review your application. Upon approval, you will be notified of your remaining balance.
What will my child learn?
Each camp is different. Lessons and hands-on activities align with various Engineering disciplines such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, etc. Whichever camp you choose, your child is sure to take away transferable knowledge and skills.
My child is only 1 year younger than the minimum grade level requirement. Can you make an exemption?
To help facilitate an effective learning environment, grade levels for each camp are determined based on prerequisite knowledge and developmental level. Feel free to call our office if you have any questions.
